NORA is a deeply nourishing herbal tea crafted for pregnancy, postpartum, lactation, and women through all stages of their childbearing years.
Traditionally recommended by midwives, this mineral-rich blend has long been valued for its supportive and restorative qualities during pregnancy and beyond. NORA stands for Nettle, Oatstraw, Red Raspberry Leaf, and Alfalfa — four herbs chosen for their traditional use in supporting the body through conception, pregnancy, birth, and recovery. We’ve added Rosehips for their naturally occurring vitamin C and bioflavonoids.
Together, these loose-leaf herbs create a gentle prenatal tonic rich in plant-based nutrients and minerals to nourish both mother and baby. From helping to replenish essential minerals to supporting the body through the demands of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, each herb has been thoughtfully selected for both purpose and tradition.
Meet the Herbs
Nettle
Nettle is naturally abundant in vitamins A, C, D, and K, along with a wide range of minerals in an easily absorbed form. It is especially rich in silica, traditionally valued for supporting skin elasticity as the body stretches during pregnancy.
A gentle diuretic, nettle has long been used to support fluid balance and healthy kidney function during pregnancy’s increased demands. It is traditionally used to support the adrenals, circulation, and overall nourishment of the body. Its calcium and magnesium content may help support tired muscles and general tension throughout pregnancy, while its vitamin K content has made it a traditional ally in preparing the body for birth and postpartum recovery.
Nettle is also traditionally used postpartum to support recovery and deeply nourishing breast milk production.
Naturally occurring minerals include: calcium, magnesium, iron, silica, potassium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc and trace minerals.
Red Raspberry Leaf
Red Raspberry Leaf has a long and respected history of traditional use in pregnancy. Often misunderstood as a herb used to induce labour, it is more accurately valued as a uterine tonic traditionally used to support the tone and function of the womb throughout pregnancy and birth.
Historically, Raspberry Leaf has been used to support healthy circulation to the uterus, ease discomfort during the later stages of pregnancy, and prepare the body for labour. It has also traditionally been used to support the tissues of the womb, assist productive contractions during labour, and support postpartum recovery.
Beyond pregnancy, Raspberry Leaf is also valued for its soothing and toning effect on the digestive and urinary systems.
Naturally occurring minerals include: magnesium, calcium, potassium, iron, manganese, phosphorus and chromium.
Oatstraw
Oatstraw is often referred to as a nourishing tonic for the nervous system. Traditionally used during times of exhaustion, stress, and depletion, it is both gently restorative and calming.
Rich in minerals — particularly magnesium — Oatstraw has long been valued for supporting the nervous system, helping the body cope with stress, and encouraging rest and replenishment. It is also traditionally used to support digestion, fluid balance, circulation, and overall wellbeing during pregnancy and postpartum.
Naturally occurring minerals include: magnesium, calcium, silica, iron, manganese, zinc, phosphorus and potassium.
Alfalfa
Alfalfa has been treasured since ancient times as a deeply nourishing plant tonic. With its deep root system drawing minerals from far beneath the soil, it is naturally rich in trace minerals and nutrients.
Traditionally, Alfalfa has been used to support blood sugar balance, digestion, and overall vitality. It contains naturally occurring plant compounds including saponins and betaine, and has long been valued as a strengthening and restorative herb during pregnancy and recovery.
Naturally occurring minerals include: calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, phosphorus, manganese, silica and chlorophyll-rich trace minerals.
Rosehips
Rosehips provide naturally occurring vitamin C and bioflavonoids, traditionally valued for supporting collagen production, skin elasticity, and overall tissue integrity during pregnancy.
They also bring a bright, gentle tartness to the blend while adding an extra layer of nourishment and antioxidant support.
Naturally occurring minerals include: calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, iron and trace minerals.
How to Brew your NORA:
Use 1 Tablespoon per Litre of water.
Brew at 90/95 Degrees for a fast water extraction.
I love to cold brew Nora each night before bed for 12 hours. This protects the Vitamins and Antioxidants from being damaged with heat. It makes a more gentle brew.
I recommend drinking Nora the entire 3rd and 4th trimester - simply replace your water with 1 Litre of Nora infusions daily. You’ll be thanking me when you escape the postpartum hairloss.
